Living Carlton is an environmental and sustainably planned redevelopment comprising of 3 sites in Carlton, in inner Melbourne. The Living Carlton project incorporates 246 social housing apartments and over 800 private apartments.
Given the social housing component, it was determined early in the project that energy efficiency and the use of renewables was an important factor in minimising residents' future fuel costs.
As such, a Green Star rating of 4-5 stars was the target for all buildings in the development.
Project Description
The strong winds experienced atop tall buildings in urban settings was a concern for the developers. Greenland Systems collectors however were chosen due to the extensive durability testing which is in excess of Australian Standards.
The field has been designed to provide 70 degree cellos water to a central 5,000L and, which supplies tempered water to individual instantaneous gas boosters.
