Background:

BD Farms Paris Creek are a leading supplier of biodynamic and organic dairy products to major supermarkets and niche outlets.

The high and rising cost of LPG for their boiler system, along with the sustainability focus of the business resulted in the owners seeking a renewable energy solution for their high temperature pasteurisation process and CIP systems.

Project Description:

Greenland Systems provided the 150KW evacuated tube solution which met the high temperature needs of the facility, while ensuring the production process was not disrupted irrespective of solar conditions. This is achieved by providing 6,000L of Hot Water storage, and utilising the existing boiler configuration as a back-up source. The solar system displaces ~70% of the annual LPG consumption prior to installation, and has a 40 year service life.
